“Love at First Sight”. Maybe not everyone will say it does happen but here are two people who can vouch that it can. David and Sisca first met in a gym and everything followed and grew from there. After a year and a half of being together, here they are now, featured in our blog as husband and wife on their wedding day.

They seem to be born for each other…or so we believe. Sisca is a model who is used to facing cameras and David, just like us, a photographer, who’s used to holding a camera (except that he holds a Canon, and we a Nikon ;)) It was like everything was destined to happen the day they met in the gym.

As we always do, we enjoyed taking their photos for the very reason that we can feel their emotions for each other each time we press the shutter. The pictures, we believe, no matter how good a photographer is, would be dull if there is no chemistry between two subjects. And the chemistry was really strong between these two. The photos below will reveal this.

It has been yet another heart-warming experience for us to be chosen to be their photographers. We are most flattered that eventhough David’s gadgets are far better than ours, we were the “chosen one” so it is with great honour to present to you the once, Susanne Fransisca Widjaja and David Manansang and now, Mr and Mrs David Manansang.

Jakarta loves Manila Welly-much!

We are very thankful of Google as this was the means of how this once soon-to-be-bride-and-now –a-bride, Redge found us in New Zealand. It was most flattering, as she narrated, how she immediately made a long-distance phonecall to her fiance’ in Jakarta, Meeko after seeing our website and said “I think I have found our photographers!” after browsing through all the websites of almost all the photographers in Jakarta, Indonesia. They were so thankful to have found us. Little did they know, we were more than grateful and maybe even more thankful to have worked with a couple like them.

We first met the couple in our office in Stiabudi, (a.k.a Starbucks) and it was really moving what they said when we asked them what they’d want as a theme for their pre-wedding pictorial. “We want every shot to show our personality as a couple.” They both agreed. The soon-to-be bride didn’t want long gowns, the soon-to-be groom didn’t want to wear suit with neckties and the like. And we would have to say the photos revealed how they are as a couple — very fun to be with, easy to get along with, very spontaneous and very in love.

They are different from each other. Meeko, an Industrial Designer is the adventurous type who would climb mountains wearing a backpack; Redge, a Pre-school teacher is the sophisticated type who enjoys shopping with her LV bag. It was like: “The Adventurer Meets the Shopaholic”. But their differences, they celebrated and they believe, after more than 5 years of being together, that these differences brought them to where they are now.

The pictures you are about to see display the love that we can say “has conquered all” after hearing their love story and spending time with them. Redge, as we call her, is from Manila, Philippines and Meeko, from Jakarta, Indonesia. Their paths crossed in a windy town called Wellington (Welly) in New Zealand where Meeko finished his degree and where Redge has been living for the last 8 years. Redge has counted, on the day of the wedding, they have known each other for 1,905 days already :).

It has been a rewarding experience, having this couple who never failed to make us feel how much our works are loved and our efforts, appreciated. More than their photographers, we were treated as their friends. More than our clients, they are our #1 fans.
As Redge said, “we paid not to have photos, we paid to have memories we can forever keep.”
Two words to describe this couple: “They Match!”

We know that’s our first long description, but we love to do that, now enjoy the photos :))

Hi Everyone! Time for new post, sorry for waiting

Once upon a time, a single would-be Doctor met another single would-be Doctor and fell in love. After a few years of courtship, they decided to spend the rest of their life together. Johan and Riri started to ‘shop’ for a photographer to record this happy moment. They found Uppermost through google (thanks, google!) and fell in love with us. There was when our relationship with this cute couple began.

Both doctors were so natural in front of the cameras. They are so in-sync with each other that it was a breeze to capture their love through our cameras. It was such a relaxed, easy session that they could still manage to give us pointers on living a healthy lifestyles throughout the session. Pointers that certainly would leave no impacts on our current bizarre lifestyles .. hahaha…

We are glad to share some of our shoots with these Doctors turned models! Enjoy!

It was a great session, with great make up artist (Dybie Natalia) and fabulous model (Fo). Fo has nearly perfect skin, so we were not having difficulties to make these beautiful shots, and not to mention she is very beautiful also. Dybie’s make up is great too, simple but yet beautiful. 8 strobe flash are involved in these shots.

Few times a go, we were asked by Astro TV to make a interior photoshooting so that they can make a documentation of it. They are now collecting episodes about photographers and their works. The title of this programme is “Titik Api”. We’re very happy with this opportunity, because they are noticed about our works in this very big jungle of photography. Besides, we can share our knowledge to the audience.
This photoshooting was taking place at Waroeng Shanghai Blue 1920. A very unique and antique restaurant in the middle of Jakarta.
These 3 frames were taken in 8 hours. The lighting is quite complicated in setup. But the result is very satisfying.

Last week we have chance to do food photoshooting session at Dandy Bakery. It is a well known bakery in North Jakarta, located at Kelapa Gading Permai, Jalan Boulevard Blok K4 No.11. It is a very fun and mouthfull session for us :D. The cakes and breads are delicious so it is very easy for us to make a very good picture of them. Some of the cakes are traditional cakes of indonesia, so you may no find it everywhere except in indonesia. But the taste is very good. According to the owner, it is a original recipe from her, and she made it by using natural ingredients. So it suppose to be healthy food :). THEUPPERMOST had a chance, last Valentine’s Day, to covered an intimate wedding at the beautiful Banyan Tree, Bintan.  We have never met Julia and Cliff before, but they were such a friendly, warm couple, that we hit it off right away.

In the short time provided, we managed to shoot a wedding portrait that we would like to share with you in this post. Last but not least, we’d like to thank Wiki (Foto Expression) for inviting us to the happy couple, thanks man! You give us really a ‘bad’ influence hahaha! And also Ilona & Marina, we are still wait for the invitation to Sydney hahaha!

It was a busy, busy weekend for us in the Island of God. This pre-wedding photograph was taken the day after our coverage for Willem and Audrey’s holy matrimony at Nikko Hotel.

Chipan, who was Willem’s groomsman, is one of the coolest groom-to-be we’ve have the pleasure to work with. Coupled with Monica, one of the most beautiful bride-to-be we’ve known, they make a stunning pair. And we’re ecstatic to capture them through our lenses!. The session was start from Nikko Hotel and finished at Blue Point, Uluwatu. We enjoyed the session as much as they did, two rockin’ days! .

Amen and Henny are a very unique couple. At first they weren’t to confident to pose in front of the camera. Eventually they can pose naturally, and gain confident after a few laugh here and there They really love the pre-wedding shot, and eager to see their wedding pictures.
